What is the Climate Like in Carratraca?

Carratraca enjoys the climates of a typical inland Andalusian town with hot summer months reaching the late 30’s early 40 degree temperatures. Spring and Autumn months are generally mild with winters being colder and occasionally cloudy with some rainfall.

The enviable climate means that residence are able to make the most of the beautiful surroundings with plenty of outdoor activities, sports, country walks and al fresco dining.

The famous sulphur water spas of Carratraca are set just outside of town and are open from June 15th – October 15th every year providing lavish facilities and a range of luxurious treatments.

Situated between Carratraca and Casarabonela are the ‘La Cueva de los Murciélagos’ known as the ‘Bat Caves’. If you like to explore then these could be well worth a visit and you can take a guided tour of the cave systems that are home to one of the largest bat colonies in Andalusia.

Great for family days out, dog walks, hikes and relaxation are the ArdalesEl Chorro lakes and Teba which are all within easy distance of Carratraca and feature picturesque landscapes, lakes, greenery and open spaces.

Restaurants and Bars

Carratraca has some great bars and restaurants offering traditional cuisine and delicious wine as well as countryside ‘Ventas’ selling affordable, simple foods for quick stops or eating on the go.

Nearby Coin, Malaga, Torremolinos, Benalmadena and Fuengirola provide an endless array of food options for every occasions from fast food and casual cafes to traditional tapas, local cuisine, international gastronomy and pubs, clubs, cocktail and sports bars.
